The latest original game from programming legend Jonathan Cauldwell for your 16K ZX81
Welcome to Jeux Sans Frontières (known in the UK as It's a Knockout.) You have been transported back in time to the late 1970s to take part in a frivolous Europe-wide game show where a collection of nations who should know better assemble to compete in silly games to find out who is the bestest ever with brass knobs on.
Today Frogmella Friskney is representing the nation of Switzerland in her inaugural television appearance and is understandably nervous about making herself look foolish in front of a hundred million viewers across the continent. Frogmella will be competing in the recurring log pool "Fil Rouge", a ridiculous event whereby competitors are dressed in enormous foam latex frog costumes and must leap around to collect all the bugs placed randomly on logs, while the logs circle a pool. One mistake and Frogmella will end up in the drink and that would be rather embarrassing. All this is against the clock, so to gain the most points Frogmella must complete her task as quickly as possible. To make matters worse, a member of the Belgian team will be dressed in a birdman outfit and will swing in on a zipwire attempting to catch Frogmella. Fortunately, Frogmella can catch and release a dragonfly (a fellow team-member with a hook on a stick) who can "distract" the "bird" by pulling the zipwire away from her. Oh, you'll figure it out...
Mixing elements of Frogger and Pacman into a mindbending, eye popping arcade experience!
